Yeah, yeah, spare me the "Rachel Maddow is an uber-liberal" stuff. :) I'm more interested in your thoughts on this proposed law.
My story--we did this to the elected town officials in Glenville many years ago, because of their fiscal mismanagement. However, we did it with the voting booth. Why do we need a different way to do this?

A law to break legal contracts without a check/balance? Is that even allowed from a federal point of view? I know that's only one aspect of this, but this whole thing is ridiculous.

Yeah, but I know things in Michigan are pretty dire financially, so I'm curious as to the back story here. Not that things are all roses here in NY or anywhere else, and I'd love a loophole to bust a few state unions here. :)

I loved the union thing, but not the rest. Find it kinda funny though. Can't believe this is the first I've ever heard of it, but I don't catch the news much.

yea, I gave up listening to the columnist...union lover...

LOL. Still, even if you don't like unions, that's no way to go about knocking them down a peg. I hate to Godwin, but I'll be damned if this Nazis didn't use this same strategy after the Reichstag fire (which they set, of course).
It's not a new concept, by any stretch--I just can't believe how many people, Republicans especially, that don't see this for what it is--a naked power grab that is totally beyond the reach of the electorate.
